Global Growth Companies Are Sweden's Future

Companies with 0-49 employees have shown the biggest increase in growth in Sweden. The amount of companies in this category with subsidiaries abroad increased by 44 percent during 2007-2009. The statistics from Growth Analysis also show that the trend of companies setting up business abroad continued to rise in 2009 by 2.5 percent, despite the prevailing financial crisis.

Since 2007, Jeeves' international sales have increased from a marginal level to accounting for around 40 percent of the company's turnover today. The biggest sales increase comes from small and midsized customers.

"Jeeves' strength is to offer customers an ERP system that can easily be rolled out in new subsidiaries in countries included in the organization following international expansion. The flexibility of the ERP system makes it easy to convey group-wide business concepts throughout the entire group, while adapting the system to local requirements in different countries. Since the recovery in 2009, we have seen a clear increase in demand among small and midsized European companies that operate on different geographical markets," said Bengt-Åke Älgevik.

An ERP system manages a company's logistics, production, accounting and more. When a company embarks onto new markets, the ERP system must deliver the same results as before, but has other requirements to meet, which include local demands. Swedish wholesaler group Bufab uses Jeeves in 16 companies across 14 different countries.

"When a group embarks onto a new geographical market, the ERP system must follow from day one. The markets are most often very different from each other, which places demands on the ERP system's adaptability and short implementation time," said Joakim Karlsson, CFO of Bufab, which has been using Jeeves' ERP system since 1999.
